Shottle Hall Wedding Fare

Gorgeous setting for a wedding right? Shottle Hall is based in Derby and its a family run business which I think always adds that nice personal touch to a special event. Myself and Jodie were there to mix & mingle / help promote the wedding fare. Matt Lowe of Field Photographic was our photographer for the day along with the local press. His work is fantastic and I can highly recommend Matt’s services!  Saw some amazing exhibits ie. cake makers and florists alike. I’m making some great contacts in the Wedding scene – shame I won’t be getting married till at least 2020!!

Yesterday I was on a date in Oxford and I got a call for a Job in London which I had about two hours to get to. I couldn’t turn this one down as it was with someone famous who I had grown up watching on the TV. I wouldn’t recommend standing up your date for such things but how can you turn these opportunities down?! Starting to yearn for a quick holiday to seek some sun- can’t believe its march already…before you know it the wedding will be upon us…

EuroTrip- Berlin

Myself and Jodie Bredo just got back from an epic trip to Berlin. SAT.1 (popular TV station) were our hosts for the two days. Neither of us had checked the weather forecast and we were slightly surprised that the temperature was -12 in parts! This made filming slightly more arduous! That aside we embraced it- The first day involved creating some footage for the breakfast show which was being aired the next day. We had some funny moments including serving ‘Fish & Chips’ to some unsuspecting customers. I think they were as surprised as us, Fish & Chips seems to have joined ‘a cup of tea’ in terms of iconic symbols of the British. The ‘hype’ that surrounds the royal couple is clearly far less, which to be honest is understandable. When the sun went down, we managed to sample a few of the Hotel’s finest cocktails where we seemed to attract more attention than when we were dressed as William and Kate.

Like with all breakfast TV we were up at an unsociable hour, thankfully we had a short ride to the TV Studio were we had the obligatory hair and make-up. Whilst watching the show live on TV we noticed that Jennifer Aniston and Adam Sandler were on, promoting their new movie – unfortunately we missed them by one day! (That would have really made the trip). We were on two different segments and the first proved to be tricky as we had an Interpreter relaying the conversation into an earpiece and on live TV I’m sure you can imagine, it has its difficulties! Second time round though was smooth and it went well.

Once that was done we moved onto the best part of the trip. We had our own bodyguards and driver (as pictured above). This was a take on MTV’s Punked TV Show. We would pull up in a convoy outside some shops and one bodyguard would go in alone with a secret camera and inform the owner that Prince William and Kate Middleton were on there way in. Once we had the all clear, all the bodyguards and TV crew would enter. We would sample German beers claiming that we wanted some for our wedding etc. I’ve never seen people look so nervous, I think the bodyguards alone sent people into a panic let alone tricking people into believing that they were hosting royalty. Once we left the shop the crew would go back in and let them know that they had been ‘punked’. It was great to partake and a good excuse to exercise some Acting skills! Eventually we wrapped the day up to find out our flight had been delayed by three hours…not ideal! Well luckily I’m not working today and have a chance to rest before I have to do some dancing tomorrow with Kate Bevan…This really should be interesting as there will be a famous coach training us (I hope she has some patience!!) Over the weekend I’m working with Jodie at a Wedding Fare at Shottle Hall so hope to see you there!
